Why am I a bit despondent at the end of 2022?
No - not because I lost money on crypto. Blockchain is so much more than crypto and digital assets. I am despondent at how the contagion of the collapse of Terra Luna, Celsius Network and now FTX has darkened the name of Blockchain and all its configurations. The whole industry is in for a rough ride. This will overshadow the excellent progress in Blockchains with social utility. There have been so many positive developments in the ecosystem, like new green platforms, the Ethereum merge, DApps for climate action and health care, and many more. Metaverse and Web 3.0 have hit the limelight and are making solid progress. But the whole industry is under a cloud and was recently publicly accused by economist Nouriel Roubinia “6 c’s: concealed, corrupt, crooks, criminal, conmen, carnival barkers and CZ.” This is a fair accusation for parts of the digital asset industry, but for those serious builders, it will be a major setback - for investmen…
