Key messages and lessons from the London Crypto A.M. 2022 Summit and Awards event
This year’s Crypto A.M. Summit and Awards event took place on the 23rd and 24th of November, being held in the shadows of the magnificent St Paul’s Cathedral. In a role that has its origins dating back to 1414, City of London Lord Mayor, Nicholas Lyons, included in his opening keynote speech that: “The City of London has thrived due to innovation which is why cryptocurrencies are important. Blockchain technology is proving to be increasingly important, and the City needs to keep up to speed in order to rival other financial centres globally. Blockchains have enabled wholesale payments to be reduced from days to minutes, helping trade finance and the Bank of England is looking at the viability of a CBDC can further decrease cross border transactions costs”.
There were a number of reoccurring themes at the summit, these being:
