The evolution of Web3 and global politics
Initially, although cryptocurrencies were dismissed as fantasies designed and used by tech savvy geeks, they are increasingly being taken more seriously as use cases continue to evolve and the number of users expands on a global basis. As more people use cryptocurrencies they sway votes, politicians are increasingly paying attention to them. Look at how in the US, Biden is now looking at accepting Bitcoin to help fund his re-election campaign. Cryptocurrency is also a large and growing industry involving its miners, investors and consumer infrastructure. It is attracting more businesses that accept cryptocurrencies as payment, and overall confidence in crypto is rising, which is a different story from back in 2021 when a Civic Science poll revealed that less than 20% of Americans had a positive opinion of cryptocurrency.
