The future of enterprise technology in an emergent and unsupervised world

On 24th January, I had the pleasure of joining Daniel Doll Steinberg (DDS), his team and guests at his wonderful book launch in Waterstones in Leadenhall Market. Daniel’s book is called “Unsupervised” and it’s a stunning piece of thinking, exploring how rapidly emerging technologies are reshaping our society. The book is premised on highlighting the lack of supervision and control that exists in guiding these powerful, society-changing technologies. What was evident from the interview with Daniel at the launch was the breadth of technology that we are now exposed to, the freedom with which it can be deployed, the ability to knit these different technologies together and the profound impact they are already having, and will have, on our futures. In sum, and this doesn’t do full justice to the breadth of DDS’ evaluation of where we are, but arguably this is a Prometheus-Point, very much like when the secret of fire was revealed to humankind - assuming you believe in your Greek mythology…
