So, what does the future hold for Web3? In 2024, we saw transformative growth in Web3 across gaming, politics and fashion. On Telegram, Hamster Kombat attracted over 300 million people only to lose 260 million a few months later - still, quite impressive being able to introduce 40+million to play on a blockchain-powered on-line game. Politically, the industry has increased its influence with crypto-friendly policies following President Trump’s re-election, pushing Bitcoin above $100,000. AI-powered Web3 applications have enhanced NFTs, DeFi and user experiences, whilst decentralised identifiers have empowered users to control digital identities - blockchain adoption has accelerated through enterprise use cases, government initiatives and retail interest. Globally meanwhile, standards are being agreed as to what a crypto asset is, driven by a desire to introduce international standards regarding taxation.
